Definir™ is a clothing venture that focuses on urban street wear with a contemporary feel. It started as just an idea at Northern Illinois University in 2006 when artist Jodi was designing a line for another student and felt that the student failed him of showcasing his artwork, message and overall talent. Shortly afterward, he decided that he wanted to showcase his artwork with his own line and knew that he wouldn’t be able to do it alone, but knew just the person to call. After formulating an idea under the premises that people should define who they are, he ran it past his brother and partner Matt whose dream was to be a successful businessman, with a business that would force him to utilize his creative abilities. A few hours later Matt had come up with a million ideas and proposed the perfect name and tagline: Definir™, Define Thyself.  With Jodi’s designing ability and Matt’s business savvy, Definir™ was born.

 

Today Matt and Jodi are working non-stop to deliver a message and belief of “Define Thyself” through their artwork and business to all. What does it mean to Define Thyself? The pair don’t like to state what it means to them because they want people to develop their own definition. Defining one’s self for Matt and Jodi can be completely different than defining one’s self for everybody else.  To understand who and what you are and to have a definition of your own self there is only one thing you can do: Define Thyself.
